This is because when an evil spirit succeeds in inspiring a person into an action, the evil spirit gains access to that person’s mind when the person reflects on the inspiration and decides to act on it. When we say ‘gain access’, we mean that the evil spirit will be able to influence the person’s mind again and again and again concerning that act that it inspired earlier.
 
The reason that the evil spirit will maintain this kind of spiritual bondage relationship with this person is because the first time the evil inspirations were entertained and acted upon, a spiritual doorway was opened for the evil spirit to use in gaining repeated access to the person’s mind. Once this kind of access is gained by an evil spirit, it establishes bondage in order to keep the spiritual doorway open and make it difficult or even impossible for that person to be able to resist the temptations as they come from time to time.
 
Below is an example from the bible that demonstrates in another way how evil spirits try to establish their bondage and strongholds:
 
Acts 16:16-18, KJV - And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  The same [damsel] followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this she did [for] many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
 
The damsel (young lady) was not born with this spirit in her. The evil spirit of divination that had possessed her came upon her at some point in her life and never left her alone. Actually, in the rest of the story, it shows that some mischievous adults initiated the girl into a covenant with this spirit of divination. Any spirit that can possess your mind, your senses, your body, or your life, is a spirit of the demons. The Spirit of God does not possess people (i.e., does not control people against their will.)
 
Once spiritual bondage is established in a person’s life, the way to end is it is for the person to be delivered from it. Deliverance happens by breaking the spiritual bondage and the spiritual chains thereof with the authority and power (altogether referred to as the “anointing”) in the name of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 10:27 state: And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
